There are many products on the market I may recommend that can be used in conjunction with the treatment plan designed for your horse’s hoof rehabilitation programme.

It must be stressed, these products assist in the treatment of symptoms and it is up to you and your AEP to get to the root of the cause in order to prevent reoccurrence of infection or deformed hoof syndrome.

The costs involved with these products vary considerably; but please rest assured I will always consider your budget when making recommendations.

In the words of my teacher: ´Applied Equine Podiatry is about providing a comprehensive guide to whole health hoof care` and with that in mind I will, where appropriate, point you in the direction of fellow equine health care professionals who specialise in other fields, namely: Diet, nutrition, body balance and conditioning and tack.

All are of equal importance when caring for your horse’s feet as is seeking advice from your vet, if you are ever in any doubt.
